Worcester - Nancy F. (Collins) Schoonover, 73, of Worcester died on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
She leaves her two nieces, Jill E. Collins of Westhampton and Julie Duffy of Barrington; and her nephew, David T. Collins of Holliston. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Collins. Nancy was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Thomas E. and Ann B. (Moquin) Collins.
Nancy earned her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Anna Maria College in Paxton and worked as a Social Worker/Advocate for children and the elderly. She dedicated 13 years as a resident advocate at Quaboag Nursing Home in West Brookfield before retiring.
Nancy loved caring for others, including her many beloved dogs. Nancy's faith was always central in her life. It helped her get through some of her most difficult times and she was a pillar of strength for others when it came to having faith . She was an avid letter writer and reader. She had an incredible sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She was a gentle, caring person with a fiery mix of passion for advocacy of children, the elderly, and others in need.
Nancy was a long time active member of the Sacred Heart Church in West Brookfield, but in more recent years became a member of the United Congregational Church of Worcester.
A Graveside Service for Nancy will be held Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 11:00am in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in West Brookfield. For Everyone's health and safety, along with the current regulations, masks must be worn along with social distancing.
