Ida Cardinal Obituary

 

West Brookfield - Ida R. (Hutchison) Cardinal, 92, of West Brookfield, died on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.

 

She leaves her daughter, Gilian Narayana and son-law Charles Cross of West Brookfield, 3 grandchildren, Suri Narayana, and Abigail and Tiffany Cross, along with a great-granddaughter, Alexis Thibeault and a great-grandson, Aaron Ruan.  She also leaves her sister, Lilo Allen.  She was predeceased by her husband, Donald G. Cardinal in 2002 and her daughter Donna Cross in 2009. She was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, daughter of the late William and Ida (Mackay) Hutchison. 

 

Ida earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Worcester State College and also earned a Master’s Degree in Education.  She was a teacher with the Worcester Public Schools for over 25 years.  She loved horses, and was involved with the Worcestershire Pony Club for 20 years.  She enjoyed golfing and reading, and worked in the library at Anna Maria College for several years. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515.
