Diane P. (Dorman) Swett

Gilbertville - Diane P. (Dorman) Swett, 86, of Gilbertville died on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.

She leaves her two sons, James D. Swett and his wife Nancy of Hardwick and Mark J. Swett and wife Doreen of Ware; her daughter, Jennifer L. Taylor of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren, Eric Swett, Alyssa Chaves, Christopher Swett, Sean Swett, and Jocelyn Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte Swett and Alyvia Swett as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, George Swett. She was the daughter of the late Richard “PIP” Dorman and Mary A. (Winksnaitis) Dorman, and leaves her sister Marlene Cacciola and her brother Richard Dorman, Jr., both of whom reside in California.

Diane owned and operated Miss Diane’s beauty shop in Belchertown for many years, later working with her sons at Cluett Appliance in Ware before her retirement. She spent time volunteering at Mary Lane Hospital, and as an active member at the Hardwick Council on Aging, taking up painting in her later years.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved golfing, vacationing, traveling & taking cruises. Diane was a very social and friendly lady, who could make a friend every where she went. Her energy and smile will be missed.

A Graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours.
