David Allard Obituary

 

Gilbertville - David S. Allard, 74, of Gilbertville, died on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center.

 

He leaves his long-time companion, Margaret A. Allard; three brothers, Lawrence, Jr., Michael, and Randy Allard. He was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and Ronald Allard.  He was born in Burlington, VT, son of the late Lawrence E. and Stella M. (Lorraine) Allard.

 

Mr. Allard worked as a plumber and HVAC technician for Larry Allard Plumbing and Heating in Ware for several years, and ran his own plumbing and heating business until he retired.

 

Along with his brother Larry, he enjoyed participating in Bass Pro Fishing Tournaments throughout New England and New York.  David was the only non-boater to make the New York State Bass Pro Fishing Team four years in a row.  He was a long-time member of the New York Bass Federation, and All Saint's Church in Ware.

 

Mr. Allard was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the 1st Calvary Division.  He was awarded the Air Medal and the Bronze Star during his service. 

 

A Graveside Service for David with Military Honors will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 1:00PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or www.dav.org.
