Theresa L. (Boucher) Hayes

Brookfield - Theresa L. (Boucher) Hayes, 87, died on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family after battling cancer. 

She leaves two sons, Edward H. Hayes of Southbridge, and William T. Hayes and his wife Wendy of Brookfield; her daughter-in-law, Dana Hayes of West Brookfield; four grandchildren, Kelly Hayes, Karen Hayes, Christine Pelletier and her husband Alan, and Thomas Hayes and his wife Nicole; one brother, Emile Boucher; four sisters, Pauline Herbert, Rose Cassavant, Ruthie LaBonte, and Janet Morin, and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Edward H. Hayes in 2001, her son, Robert J. Hayes, her siblings, Louis, Victor, Francis, Charles, Dorothy, Betty Ann, and Claire, and her daughter-in-law Diana Hayes.  She was born in East Brookfield, daughter of the late Alfred and Eva (Courville) and has lived in Brookfield for 80 years.   

Theresa worked as a Machine Operator at Gavitt Wire Co. in Brookfield for over 30 years.  Along with her husband Ed, she enjoyed polka dancing, and going on cruises.  She has been on over 20 cruises, and earned a certificate of traveling over 50,000 ocean miles.  She was also an avid Red Sox fan, and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.   

She was a long time member of St. Mary's Parish in Brookfield. 

A Funeral Service will be held for Theresa on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 3:00PM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield.  A calling hour will be held from 2 to 3PM prior to the service.  Burial will be in Brookfield Cemetery following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brookfield Rescue Squad, 4 Central St., Brookfield, MA 01506. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting her family with arrangements.
