Springfield - Michael W. “Cousin” Flanagan, 62, of Springfield died on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves behind those he treasured most; his Life Partner, Rose M. Mitchell of Springfield; two daughters, Sasha O'Connor of Springfield and LillyBelle Wloch and her husband Timothy of Ware; his brother, Johnny Flanagan of Pittsfield; two sisters; Mary Veillette and Rosalie Beauvais, both of Pittsfield; four grandchildren; Jenna Fox, Phillip Fox, Riley Fox, and Maximillian O'Connor; many nieces and nephews, and his family at Car City, were he devoted 32 years loving his career, as a Sales Manager, and those he worked with. He was born in Springfield, son of the late William J. and Antonetea (Vivenzio) Flanagan. Michael was predeceased by his brother Patrick Flanagan and his sister Maureen Flanagan.
Michael was a family man and spent his time seeking out fun, family friendly activities to keep himself and his grandchildren entertained. Two of his favorite outings would be golfing or miniature golf with the kids or bowling. He also had a passion for New York sports teams, NASCAR, country music, cars and could be found each week listening to the weekly country countdown. Although it never came to be, Michael was certain someday he would hit “Powerball”!
A Celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date.
