Carolyn "Sandy" Budney

North Brookfield - Carolyn "Sandy" (Berryman) Budney, 71, of  North Brookfield died on Monday, June 25, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital.

She leaves her loving husband of 47 years, Richard S. Budney; four daughters, Laurie DeMaio and her husband Tony of North Brookfield, Kimberly Budney and her long time companion Donald McIntyre of Webster, Tracey Simpson and her husband Thomas of Spencer, and Sherry Rodgers of Auburn; her son, Richard Budney and his wife Jessie of Spencer; five sisters, Diana Stolberg and her husband Jay, Allison Berrryman, Stephanie Froio and her husband Tony, Natalie Towner and her husband Bruce, and Melanie Tretheway and her husband Dennis; one brother, Matthew Berryman; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother, Stephen E. Berryman.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Stephen W. and Stephanie (Shocik) Berryman, and lived in Leicester for 18 years, prior to moving to North Brookfield 18 years ago. 

Mrs. Budney was as a residential counselor at the Archway in Leciester where she worked with autistic adults, before retiring in 2008. 

Known as Sandy to her family, friends, and those she worked with, she enjoyed bowling and was a league member at Bogey Lanes in East Brookfield.  She also could be seen at different local Bingo venues, and enjoyed gardening around her home.  Her greatest loves though were her husband Richard, and their large extended family.   

A Funeral Service for Sandy will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11AM in the Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., in West Brookfield.  A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11AM prior to the service.  Burial will be Walnut Grove Cemetery in North Brookfield.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
