Frank Peter DeSantis

Ware - Frank Peter DeSantis died peacefully on April 3rd, 2018 at the age of 93 at home in the presence of his family.  He was born on June 18, 1924 in Hardwick, Mass.  He was the son of John and Marianna (Centofanti) DeSantis.

Frank was a devoted husband and father and a very generous and hardworking man. He took great pride in helping others.  He lived his life “his way” and stood strong in his beliefs, always ready to face a challenge.  Frank loved working and if age and physical decline hadn’t caught up with him, he would have enjoyed working to the end. 

Frank developed the neighborhoods of Woodland Heights, Skyview Drive, Sunny Hill Drive and DeSantis Drive in Ware, as well as Brookside Manor Apartments.  He also completed many other projects throughout the town of Ware. 

Frank will be sadly missed by his wife of 70 years, Domenica (Izzi) DeSantis. They had a special relationship that endured until the day he died. They loved each other dearly, in good times and in bad, and enjoyed a wonderfully long and fulfilling life.
Frank will also be missed by his daughters Gloria Goddu and her husband David of Thorndike; Rosemarie Parker and her husband Michael of Wilbraham, and his son Frank, Jr. of Ware, with whom he held a very special bond.  Frank leaves his grandson, Robert John Harnois of Ware, and three granddaughters, Leslie Archambault and her husband Eric of Belchertown, Kristin Fiola and her husband Andrew of Medway and Alyssa Hanlin and her husband Luke of Medway. He also leaves 4 great grandchildren; Mason and Luke Archambault and Jackson and Raegan Fiola and several nieces and nephews. Frank will be missed by his best friend, Ronnie Rivers (who he could always depend upon) and his wife Cathy.  Frank was predeceased by his brothers Querino and Rinaldo, his sisters Theresa Fargnoli, Jeanette and Rose DeSantis.

Frank was grateful for the wonderful care provided to him by his caregivers, Mary, Laurie and Jen. His family would also like to thank the providers from Caretenders VNA.

A Funeral Service for Frank will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11:00AM in Charbonneau Funeral Home, 30 Pleasant St., in Ware.  Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 11:00AM prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ware Police Association.  Checks should be made payable to the Town of Ware, with a note on the memo line for the Police Association, and sent to the Ware Police Department, 22 North St., Ware, MA 01082.
